Letter School Handwriting APP!

While on Pinterest, I came across an amazing app available for Iphones and Ipads. If your school has Ipads, then this would be a great app to add to your Ipad. If not, then maybe you have kids that could benefit from this app. It is $2.99 and from LetterSchool . They have a free version that has a portion of the full app for you to test. What exactly is this app and what does it do?

Letter school describes their app as:

"An amazing, intuitive game to learn all about letters and numbers: writing, counting, phonics and more"

For each letter and number, children can tap, trace, and eventually write the letters and numbers as they fade. It also tells the letter's name, the sound and words it goes with. How cool, huh?

The letters and numbers are in really cute graphics, and come in upper and lower case letters, and numbers 1-10.

For more information or to purchase the app or download the lite free app, click here for the letter school web site.

Review Games Ideas and Link for Fun and Learning!

Bring Bingo to the Classroom

Reviewing covered material before a test in a fun format is a great way  for students to see what they learned, and what they still need to work on (this is useful for the teacher also). Below I will describe my favorite 5 review games that I know about. Please comment with any review games and links that I do not mention.

1- Jeopardy ! Jeopardy review games are fun and easy to make. You can split the students in teams and keep track manually of points earned, or use an online template.
There are a lot of powerpoint templates you can download, but what I love is the online web site Jeopardy Labs. You enter the questions and answers, and it saves the link online for you to bookmark and retrieve whenever.  It's easy, check it out! In addition, this site has some pre-made templates you may be able to use as well. Wonderful!
